The importance of daily use of an SPF

ZO Skin Health sunscreen + primer SPF 30 sun protection

SPF is not just for the sunshine… it is for daily use. Indoors and outdoors, no matter the weather. This is because the skin needs protection against UVA, UVB, IR-A rays and HEV light. ZO Skin Health have a range of SPFs. However, in this article, we are going to spotlight on ZO Sunscreen + Primer SPF 30, one of our client Favorite products.

Spotlight on ZO Skin Health’s Sunscreen + Primer SPF 30

ZO Skin Health Sunscreen + Primer SPF 30

ZO Sunscreen + Primer SPF 30 is a multifunctional product that not only protects the skin from the sun, but it acts as a make-up primer too. It is a non-greasy, quick-drying sunscreen. It will diminish any skin imperfections and will leave the skin with a smooth, silk matte finish.

ZO Sunscreen + Primer SPF 30 is a non-irritating 2-in-1 product. It contains vitamin E, natural melanin, silicones and two physical sunscreen ingredients; titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Below I will break down the ingredients:

  • Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide fight off damaging effects from the sun. As it is a physical sunscreen, this means that these ingredients reflect the sun, rather than absorbing them.
  • Vitamin E will offer your skin antioxidant protection, meaning it will prevent free radical damage.
  • Natural Melanin gives the skin additional protection.
  • Silicones are what prime the skin to provide that soft and silky finish.

When and how do I use Sunscreen + Primer?

Sun protection is the final step in the skincare routine. For example, you could use in the morning, after an application of ZO Daily Power Defense. It provides broad-spectrum UVA, UVB, IR-A and HEV protection meaning you are protected indoors and outdoors.

Skin Expert Tip: A small tip is to apply 20 minutes before going outside and re-apply every 2 hours. If you are in direct sunlight, perspiring or swimming, application should be more frequent.

With its twisted lid, the bottle is more hygienic. This makes it convenient to store in your make-up bag, especially if you are taking it outdoors to re-apply throughout the day. Apply 2-3 generous pumps to your fingertips and work into the face and neck.

It can be used by itself as an SPF but as it has an added tint it can be used underneath make-up as a primer for a longer-lasting look. The product is a universal tint and can provide more coverage if you choose. So it’s ideal if you do not want to apply foundation. In comparison to some other sun protection products, it is lightweight.

Who is ZO Sunscreen + Primer SPF 30 suitable for?

Sunscreen + Primer is for all skin types. There is a small amount of product that can be left on the skin, which may not suit all skin tones. Anyone who suffers with an oily/combination skin type have noticed an improvement when using this product. They find their make-up stays looking fresh for longer and prolongs the matte finish of their make-up. It will help to smooth the skin, diminish and blur the appearance of fine lines. If this is you, you can take a look at our other sunscreen product options here.

By using a full SPF product that focuses solely on sun protection, Sunscreen + Primer SPF 30 will give the skin a lot more protection than say a moisturiser that you can purchase from a high-street shop that includes an SPF 15. Full SPF coverage will help to reflect the sun off the skin.

Why should I use facial SPF every day?

Sunshine

SPF should be applied every day part of an essential skincare routine. By using an SPF you are protecting the skin to improve the way it looks in years to come. If you are looking for a fresh-looking complexion that will help to protect the skin against photodamage, you can find out more about ZO Skin Health products here.
